Casino Patrons Served by First Aid Attendants

Tens of thousands of patrons pass through WinStar Casino in a 24-hour period, giving rise to a need for emergency medical responders. Love County EMS/Fire Brigade employs the First Aid Attendants, who provide potentialy life-saving reatment and first aid until an ambulance arrives. Below, meet three of our valued First Aid Attendants at WinStar Casino.
Tyler Hundt, EMT
First Aid Attendant, WinStar Casino
"I love helping people. This is the kind of job
in which you wake up with a smile on your f
ace," says Hundt, who launched his career in July.
He holds an associate's degree in fire science
from North Central Texas College and will
start Paramedic training at Love County
EMS in February.
Mercedes Heath, EMT
Emergency Room
"It's inspiring to know if we hadn't been there,
the situation would have turned out much
differently," says Heath about her experinece
since 2013 as a First Aid Attendant. Heath
earned her EMT through the Love County
EMS training program. She recently transferred
to the emergency room but fills in at both
WinStar and Riverwind Casino as needed.
Dakota Covington, EMT
First Aid Attendant, WinStar Casino
"I'm really enjoying this field. I have a
natural knack for helping people," says
Covington, who joined the department in
2013 after graduating from firefighter/EMT
school in Cooke County, TX.
He has been a volunteer firefighter since age
17 with the Callisburg, TX fire service. His mother,
Delena Covington, is a certified Paramedic.
