Love County Chamber of Commerce
Lunch is provided in the hospital cafeteria for meetings of the Love County Chamber of Commerce on the third Thursday of every month.
Eighth Grade Health Conference
Hospital grants and contributions underwrite the annual health conference for Love County eighth graders.
Love County Family Shelter (Victim Advocate)
With the Catherine’s Legacy Grant from the Sisters of Mercy, the hospital founded the Love County Family Shelter (victim advocate office) in partnership with the Family Shelter of Southern Oklahoma.
Since 2005, the advocate has been providing comprehensive services to Love County victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. In the latest advance in 2008, the hospital emergency room, the victim advocate, and law enforcement agencies have partnered with the C-SARA Foundation in Ardmore. C-SARA operates a crisis evaluation center on 16 St. NW where adult victims of sexual assault may receive medical evaluation and advocate services whether or not they file charges against their assailants.
The victim advocate office is located at 318 W. Main in Marietta, telephone (580) 276-2042. The 24-hour crisis line is (580) 226-6424. If you are in an abusive dating or marriage relationship, seek assistance from the victim advocate. Services are free.
Child Abuse Multidisciplinary Team
The Hospital and Foundation provide administrative bookkeeping for the Child Abuse Multidisciplinary Account supporting the law enforcement-child welfare teams that jointly investigates cases of criminal child abuse.
Love County Turning Point Coalition (Love County Community Coaltion)
The hospital/clinic is a charter member of the Love County Turning Point Coalition for improving the public’s health. The coalition meets at a monthly luncheon the first Monday of every month (except holidays) from noon-1 p.m. at the Hospital.
Love County Task Force on Child Abuse/Substance Abuse Prevention/System of Care (Love County Community Coalition)
The hospital/clinic is a charter member of the Love County Task Force on Child Abuse/Substance Prevention, and of Love County System of Care (for in-home advocacy services for families of children and youth with serious mental or behavioral disorders). The Task Force and Love County System of Care meet at a monthly luncheon the first Monday of every month (except holidays) from noon-1 p.m. at the Hospital.
Leadership Love County
The hospital/clinic is a charter member of Leadership Love County and an annual financial contributor. Leadership Love County trains citizens in the workings of city-county government, acquaints them with the problems and resources of the county, and supplies them with leadership skills so they can put their abilities, skills and training to work in community betterment.
Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)
A CASA volunteer is a trained citizen who is appointed by a judge to represent the best interests of a Love County child who is involved in the legal system through no fault of his or her own, mostly because of physical or sexual abuse or neglect. The CASA advocates for the child in court during proceedings for deprived children. The CASA is an officer of the court and is often known as the eyes and ears of the judge. Training is provided by CASA of Southern Oklahoma at (580) 226-0009.
