Nursing Rated Most Trusted Profession

The public continues to rate nurses as the most trusted profession, according to Gallup’s annual survey. Nurses have ranked at the top 12 years in a row. In 2013, 82 percent of Americans rated nurses’ honesty and ethical standards as “very high” or “high,” a full 12 percentage points above any other profession.

Entered the profession in mid-life,
after her children were grown, but has
since practiced for 30 years. She
retired from the hospital in Ardmore
and returned to Mercy Health/Love
County 10 years ago. Brings her vast
experience to the nursing floor one
day a week.

 
Albert Bearden, CNA (left) has been a Certified Nurse's Aide in the inpatient
wing and emrgency room for seven years. Has prior experience as CNA in
psychiatric center and nursing home. He is an Emergency Medical 
Technician (EMT) and has additional education in Paramedic studies.

Kim Collins, RN (right) Is in her 10th year in the emergency room. She is a
certified trauma nurse and a certified ER nurse. Also has years of
experience in hospital intensive care, outpatient obstetrics-gynecology, and
hospice. Was a widow with two young children 23 years ago when she
entered Nurth Central Texas College's RN program. Today she teaches in
the NCTC nursing department.
