Of the two nursing credentials, RN and LPN, RNs have more academic and clinical education and their duties are broader in scope. Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are licensed by the State of Oklahoma and regulated for competency by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN). OBN statistics for 2013 show a total of 100 RNs and LPNs residing in Love County.

Diana Delgado, RN (left) Was a Marietta High School senior when she began her
quest to become a Registered Nurse. Started as a Certified Nurse's Aide at
the nursing home, then joined the hospital as a CNA to help pay her way
through Murray State College's nursing program. Became a licensed RN
in 2013 and serves on the nursing floor.

Megan Yow, RN (right) Felt drawn to nursing as a child. Tried the field first as
a Candy Striper volunteer then as a nursing home aide while still in high
school. Completed schooling at NCTC. Has been an RN for 13 years,
starting as a surgical nurse in Ardmore, and joining our emergency room
in 2007. She assesses arriving patients and coordinates their care under
the direction of the Physician's Assistant.
